Dwight Howard’s Back Finally Healthy After 2012 Surgery

Houston Rockets superstar center Dwight Howard hasn’t looked like his old, explosive self the last two seasons.

The big fella is starting to show flashes of his freakish athleticism, and Howard says his back hasn’t felt this good since before going under the knife in 2012.

Per the Houston Chronicle:

“When you have a serious injury – the back injury I suffered, it takes time to heal,” Howard said. “I don’t think a lot of people understood how serious the injury was. It was something that could have been career-ending. I decided to come back and play earlier than I was supposed to and I suffered a lot because of that.

“I am healthier now. I had a really good summer on training and I am just looking forward to this season.”

“I knew that after the back surgery that some of my explosiveness and speed and agility had slowed down,” Howard said. “So I spent a lot of time this summer doing a lot of those things that could help the process.”
