Making a Yao Ming photo shoot interesting is as difficult as making Tim Duncan smile for his 11th-consecutive All-Star game. To be honest, it’s nothing short of impossible. In an effort to ‘electrify’ the stolid big man, our photographer took to downtown Houston, snapped some classic skyline images… and superimposed the two polar opposites which, by the way, happen to have co-existed famously over the years. Yao brings consistency–in his look, in his game, in his customs, in his interviews. None of this matches with the noise and bustle of a big city, but it compliments it. Maybe that’s why Yao seemed like a perfect match from Day 1.
