Eric Gordon to Undergo Knee Surgery; Out 6 More Weeks


Bad news for the Hornets and Eric Gordon, as the guard will go under the knife to fix his right knee. Reports the Times-Picayune: “New Orleans Hornets shooting guard Eric Gordon, who has played just two games this season because of a bone bruise, will undergo arthroscopic surgery on his right knee on Tuesday and will be out an addtional six weeks. Gordon was diagnosed initially with the bruise following the Hornets season opening win on Dec. 28 at Phoenix, a game in which he made the winning shot in the final seconds. He said later he entered the game with a sore knee, then the problem worsened after he knocked knees with Suns forward Grant Hill in the fourth quarter. […] ‘After consulting with out medical staff, we concluded that surgery was the bvest route and in the best interest of Eric for the long term,’ General Manager Dell Demps said in a release. ‘We had hoped with rest and rehab, Eric’s knee would have healed. ‘”
