Former NBAer Stromile Swift Arrested For Stalking

For the second time in six months, former NBA player Stromile Swift has been arrested, this time for allegedly stalking an ex-girlfriend. The Shreveport Times is on it: “Former NBA player Stromile Swift was arrested Thursday for stalking a Shreveport woman, his second arrest in less than six months, according to police. Just before 10 p.m., police received a call from an adult female, Chaquinita Pouncy, who reported that Swift was following her vehicle. She said the two had been arguing prior to the incident, police said. Patrolman located both vehicles in the 3300 block of Ivy Lane, and Swift was arrested. Shreveport police also arrested Swift in February after he showed up at the woman’s house with a gun. Officers were at the woman’s residence in the 9000 block Walker Road investigating reports of vandalism when Swift drove up with the weapon in his pocket , said Bill Goodin, spokesman for Shreveport police. Pouncy reported that Swift had sent her threatening text messages. He was arrested Feb. 12 on one count each of suspicion of aggravated assault and improper telephone communications, according to police. Swift, a former Fair Park and LSU star, was the second pick of the 2000 NBA Draft by the then-Vancouver Grizzlies. The 6-foot-10, 220-pound forward played for four organizations over nine seasons in the NBA and averaged more than 10 points per game just twice before heading to China in 2009.”
