Giannis Antetokounmpo Begins Mandatory Military Service in Greece

Duty calls for the Antetokounmpo brothers—Giannis and Thanasis donned their military fatigues Wednesday and reported for mandatory service.

The Greek Freak and his older sibling will work at an armor training center and have to fulfill a three-month commitment, standard for any Greek citizen permanently living overseas.

Per WTMJ (via Brew Hoop):

Giannis, 21, and Thanassis, 23, will each work at an armor training center near the Greek capital of Athens.

The report cites an army staff release saying that all Greek citizens who live permanently overseas must serve three months in the nation’s military.

Their term could last that long, but could also end much earlier so they can report to training camp.
