Golden State Warriors Close to Signing Carl Landry and Brandon Rush

According to agent Mark Bartelstein, unrestricted free agent forward Carl Landry is close to inking a deal with the Golden State Warriors. Landry will reportedly be joined by Brandon Rush — a restricted free agent — who is expected to re-sign with the team. Per CSN Bay Area: “The Warriors had made clear early in the offseason that re-signing Rush, who averaged 9.8 points and 3.9 rebounds per game, was a priority. Rush shot 45.2 percent from 3-point range in 2011-12, sixth in the league. As a restricted free agent, Rush had the right to sign an offer sheet from another team and then wait for the Warriors to match the offer or not. But Rush had failed to get a qualifying offer, and so he will simply come to terms on a contract with Golden State. Landry played 41 games for the New Orleans Hornets last season, averaging 12.5 points and 5.2 rebounds in 24.4 minutes per game. Landry will likely back up power forward David Lee. […] With the additions of Rush and Landry, the Warriors’ roster stands at 15 players, though not all of those contracts are guaranteed. Still, it appears that Monday’s moves will likely mean the Warriors will not bring back forward Dominic McGuire.”
