Goran Dragic on Miami: ‘My Wish is to Stay Here’

Miami Heat guard Goran Dragic has only been in South Beach for three weeks, and he says that his “wish” is to remain right where he is.

Dragic will be an unrestricted free agent this summer, and though he plans to explore all possible options, the 25-year old guard admits that the Heat will have the upper hand.

Though he’ll consider “everybody”, it bears noting that Miami can ink Dragic to the richest deal ($100 million over five years) while other teams can offer up to a four-year pact worth $80 million.

Per the LA Daily News:

“I’m really comfortable. I feel great,” Dragic said. “Miami is a nice city. People are nice. The system is good. I like coach. I have all good words for them.”

Those might sound like bad words to the Lakers. Dragic said earlier this year that he would opt out of his $7.5 million player option to become an unrestricted free agent. He listed the Lakers among his many options he would consider. […] Since then, Dragic has somewhat changed his tune.

“The main thing for me is to find a home here, know the plays and know my teammates,” Dragic said. “My wish is to stay here.” […] “They’re a great organization and have a history of winning,” Dragic said about the Lakers (16-44). “Right now they’re not having a good season. But that could change anytime.”
