John Wall Has Five Non-Displaced Fractures in Left Wrist and Hand

Wizards PG John Wall has five non-displaced fractures in his left wrist and hand, according to a team announcement on Thursday afternoon. That’s potentially devastating news for Washington, which sits tied 1-1 with the Atlanta Hawks in their Eastern Conference Semifinals series, with Game 3 slated for Saturday in DC.

After leading his team to a big Game 1 win, Wall sat out Game 2—a Wizards loss—nursing a swollen wrist. Now, we know just how bad it is. But still, the Wizards haven’t ruled out Wall gutting the injury out. Until they do, we’ll wait with baited breath for another update.

For now, this is all the Wizards are saying:

Wizards guard John Wall underwent multiple examinations yesterday that revealed five non-displaced fractures in his left wrist and hand.

Wall and the team are currently in consultation with multiple physicians and specialists to determine the best course of action and his playing status has yet to be determined. Further updates will be provided as information becomes available.
