JR Smith and Kenyon Martin Missed Practice Due to Illness

After gutting it out in Game 3, JR Smith couldn’t practice the next day. The flu bug also claimed Kenyon Martin as a victim. Per the NY Daily News: “Kenyon Martin joined J.R. Smith on the sick list as the two players missed Sunday’s practice with the flu. Both are expected to be available for Game 4 on Tuesday. ‘Kenyon didn’t make it in today and J.R. is still struggling,’ head coach Mike Woodson said. ‘Kenyon’s kind of coming down with it too, so we got to be careful this thing doesn’t spread and other guys start dropping, so we kept them back at the hotel.’ Smith, battling a 102-degree fever, scored nine points on 4-for-12 shooting in Saturday’s 82-71 Game 3 loss to Indiana. Martin was one of the few Knicks who played well, producing eight points and seven rebounds in 20 minutes. Smith had missed Saturday’s morning shootaround with the flu.”
