Knicks, Suns Reportedly Working on a Steve Nash Sign-and-Trade

According to the NY Daily News, Steve Nash could soon be taking his basketball and heading to Gotham. The Knicks and Suns are reportedly negotiating a sign-and-trade for the former NBA MVP: “The proposed deal would include Iman Shumpert, a player the Knicks are reluctant to part with, as well as Toney Douglas and at least two other players. The trade is necessary in order for the Knicks to give Nash a contract comparable to the three-year, $36 million offer he received from the Toronto Raptors. The addition of Nash would make the Knicks one of the league top offensive teams but also one of the NBA’s worst defensive starting units, especially of Shumpert is included in the trade. Regardless of what happens with Nash the Knicks intend to re-sign Jeremy Lin, who is meeting with the Houston Rockets Wednesday.”
