Cleveland Cavaliers superstar LeBron James still hasn’t gotten over his squad being eliminated from the NBA Finals in six games by the champion Golden State Warriors.
James, while on a promotional tour for the movie “Trainwreck”, reports that he has nightmares about the crushing defeat, in a chat Sunday with Bleacher Report Radio on Sirius XM:
“I just don’t feel like you ever move on from losing in the Finals,” James said, “because you feel like you’re right there and feel like you have the opportunity to do something special. … I can never get away from losing in the Finals.”
“I guess there’s nightmares now about situations throughout the games that’s always replaying in my head,” James said. “It’s definitely difficult, you know I’m getting better every day, but you know it takes quite a while for me to get out of the funk.”
LeBron considers the Cavs to be a “great team”, and says that he has yet to reach his own personal ceiling as a player.

“People always look at me sideways and say well how can you possibly get better,” the four-time NBA Most Valuable Player said Sunday. “I just feel like I have a lot of room to improve, either from a basketball side of things or from a leadership or mental side of things that can help me a better player,” James said. “So I’m looking forward to it.”
He said having Kyrie Irving and Kevin Love healthy against Golden State – they were both lost to season-ending surgeries – “still doesn’t guarantee you a championship … but obviously it would’ve gave us a better chance. That’s obvious. […] You still gotta go out on the floor and play the game, but it definitely give us a better shot than we had,” James said of his team, which lost to the Warriors in six games. He is 2-4 lifetime in six Finals.
James, 30, said he would “get back into the lab” to start working on his game in late August and ramp up his workouts in September, and would use the flights to and from China to decide which area of his game he’d like to improve. […] “Once the postseason starts, if we’re fortunate to get to the postseason — I think we can, we have a great team — that (secret motivation James mentioned but declined to disclose during the Finals) will kick back in,” he said.
