LeBron James Thinks Serge Ibaka’s Comments on His Defense are ‘Stupid’

Inevitably, LeBron James was asked today about Serge Ibaka’s comments (which were critical of LeBron’s abilitly as a defensive player.) James dismissed Ibaka’s trash talk as being stupid. Per the Sun-Sentinel: “Ibaka said Monday James was ‘not a good defender’. The comments come during a season where James was named to the league’s All-Defensive Team. ‘I don’t really care what he says,’ James said. ‘He’s stupid. Everyone says something to me every series, then (the media) tries to get a quote. It’s stupid.’ Ibaka, who did not speak to reporters Tuesday, went on to criticize James by saying he was unable to defend Thunder forward Kevin Durant for an entire game. He said James ‘can play defense for two to three minutes but not 48 minutes.’ James has split time with forward Shane Battier guarding Durant during the series. ‘Me, as a defender, I just to try to make plays,’ James said. ‘I’m not guarding KD for 48 minutes and KD’s not playing 48 minutes.’”
