You ever gotten into such a huge debate about the NBA with your boy that it escalated into a fistfight?

That’s what happened to two guys over the weekend in State College, PA. It all started with an argument about which player is the greatest of all-time: Michael Jordan or LeBron James?

And it ended with one man in jail. For real.

A debate over who is the best basketball player of all time, LeBron James or Michael Jordan, became heated early Saturday morning, and resulted in felony charges of aggravated assault and criminal trespassing for a State College man.

At 3:49 a.m. Saturday, Daniel Mondelice, 22, and his roommate began the argument at their Calder Commons apartment, 520 E. Calder Way, the State College Police Department said.

After physically assaulting his roomate, Mondelice was charged with aggravated assault, terroristic threats and simple assault, police said.

Police told Mondelice that he was not to return to his apartment after his arraignment, except briefly with a police escort to gather his things, police said.

Once out of custody, Mondelice went to a residence at University Gateway, 616 E. College Ave., police said.

The women who lived at the apartment knew Mondelice and told him he could only stay for a short period of time, police said.

When Mondelice overstayed his welcome, they asked him to leave, police said, at which point he became verbally insulting and aggressive.

The women called the police at about 6:33 p.m. Saturday, prompting Mondelice to leave, police said. Police picked him up later and charged him with criminal trespassing and harassment.

Mondelice’s preliminary hearing is scheduled for Wednesday.
