Los Angeles Lakers Sign Nick Young

The Los Angeles Lakers continue to ink free agents to cheap, minimum one-year deals. Nick Young and his infinite swag are joining Laker Nation. Per the LA Times: “Young, 28, will make $1.2 million next season. It was not immediately known if he was under contract beyond that. Young averaged 10.6 points and shot 41.3% for Philadelphia last season. He has also played for Washington and briefly with the Clippers in his six-year NBA career. He played at USC and also at Reseda Cleveland High. ‘It’s great for Nick and great for the Lakers,’ said Young’s agent, Mark Bartelstein. ‘He could’ve waited and got more money in the free-agent market but his dream has always been to play for the Lakers.’ The Lakers now have 10 players under contract for $83 million. They are trying to sign guard Jordan Farmer in a complicated deal that includes a buyout from a pro team in Turkey. The Lakers are also mulling whether to waive Metta World Peace and save about $15 million in luxury taxes. The deadline for such a transaction is Tuesday.”
