Manu Ginobili Had Surgery for a Testicular Injury

The San Antonio Spurs announced Thursday that veteran forward Manu Ginobili underwent surgery to address a testicular injury suffered in a win against the visiting New Orleans Pelicans last night.

Ginobili, 38, will be sidelined for the next four weeks.

Manu had six points in 22 minutes of burn against the Pels.

Manu Ginobili had to be helped off the court after suffering what appeared to be a groin injury with 2:26 left in Wednesday night’s 110-97 win over the New Orleans Pelicans.

Ginobili crumpled to the floor after making contact with the Pelicans’ Ryan Anderson, who was called for an offensive foul on the play. […] Injured Spurs captain Tim Duncan and athletic trainer Will Sevening later helped Ginobili walk to the locker room.

Ginobili’s teammates sent mixed signals regarding the severity of the injury. While LaMarcus Aldridge laughed it off and David West said he thought Ginobili would be fine, Tony Parker struck a serious tone. […] “I don’t want to joke with that,” Parker said. “It doesn’t look good.”
