Markieff Morris on Kentavious Caldwell-Pope: ‘He Doesn’t Have Any Heart’

The Phoenix Suns grinded out a tough 88-86 victory Wednesday night in Detroit, and things got heated between Markieff Morris and Pistons guard Kentavious Caldwell-Pope.

KCP finished with 15 points, but could not convert the potential winning three.

Morris called out Caldwell-Pope in the postgame scrum for supposedly lacking heart.

Per the AZ Republic:

The Suns fell behind 86-85 on a Kentavious Caldwell-Pope 3 with 34 seconds to go, but Eric Bledsoe answered with a drive with a burst that Detroit could not handle off the screen or at the rim. […] Markieff Morris blocked a drive by Brandon Jennings, who riddled them with drives in the third quarter, and Caldwell-Pope missed a 3.

“I didn’t think I was going to get it, but I just swung as hard as possible and got it,” Morris said. “And then Caldwell-Pope got it, and you know he doesn’t have any heart so we knew he was going to miss it.”

Morris had a heated exchange with Caldwell-Pope earlier in the game, a fitting chest-to-chest for a rare Suns grind-it-out win.
