Miami Heat to Move Training Camp to New Locale?

Not sure if you’ve heard, but the Heat are a big deal now, and their current training camp accommodations might no longer be adequate. From the Sun-Sentinel: “The Miami Heat is considering taking its training camp on the road for the first time in the franchise’s 23 seasons. In a bid to possibly stave off an expected media crush in the wake of signing LeBron James, Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh, the Sun Sentinel has learned the Heat is working out details to possibly move its camp to the state’s Panhandle. The Heat has held its training camps at AmericanAirlines Arena in recent seasons, as a matter of economics and convenience. The farthest it has strayed with its camps over its first 22 seasons had been into Palm Beach County. But for those from the national media who had been expecting a week of South Beach, the reality now could be something closer to Waffle Houses and Holiday Inns, with the Heat considering traveling more than 500 miles from South Florida.”
