Mo Williams Changes His Mind and Retires

So much for returning for one final season—Mo Williams informed the Cleveland Cavaliers that he’s done with basketball.

Williams, 33, had his change of heart less than a week after announcing that he was coming back.

The veteran guard had waivered on whether or not to keep playing throughout the offseason.

Per the NEOMG:

Cleveland general manager David Griffin said at the top of his press conference that Williams’ agent, Raymond Brothers, informed the Cavs of Williams’ latest decision in the morning.

Williams had been leaning strongly toward retirement this summer, then reversed course on the eve of training camp. With Williams retiring, the only true point guard on the roster behind Kyrie Irving is rookie Kay Felder.
