The Finals currently use a 2-3-2 home-away-home format, so the team with the better record gets to play in its home arena during Games 1, 2, 6 and 7. This means the underdog earns a huge advantage if they can steal either Games 1 or 2, something many folks have had a problem with in past years. But according to the Boston Herald‘s Steve Bulpett, we may be headed back to the way things used to be, with a 2-2-1-1-1 format:
