NBA Suspends Greg Monroe for Two Games for Guilty DUI Plea

Detroit Pistons big man Greg Monroe will sit out the first two games of the regular season, after being suspended for pleading guilty to a drunk driving charge.

Monroe accepted a one-year $5.5 million qualifying offer with the Pistons this week. From the press release:

Detroit Pistons’ forward/center Greg Monroe has been suspended for two games without pay for pleading guilty to driving while visibly impaired, in violation of the law of the State of Michigan, the NBA announced Tuesday.

 

Monroe’s suspension will begin with the first game of the 2014-15 NBA regular season.
