Paul Pierce Ejected for Clotheslining George Hill (VIDEO)

Having gone scoreless Monday night for the first time since March 9, 1999, a frustrated Paul Pierce clotheslined George Hill on the fastbreak, leading to an ejection. Per Newsday:

Pierce, who shot 0-for-7 in 15:14, was called for a flagrant 2 foul when he chased down George Hill on a fast break and tried to make a hard play on the ball. Pierce wound up lassoing and horse-collaring him, with Hill taking a hard spill.

The officials reviewed the play and concluded it was a flagrant 2, sending Pierce to the showers early. He left without talking to the media, but Hill didn’t think there was any malicious intent.

“No, that’s part of the game,” he said. “Hard fouls are a part of the game. I’ve been in that position a lot, my whole life. Get back up and don’t let it faze me.”
