Player of the D.A.Y.

By Sam Rubenstein

There was a grand total of 2 NBA games played and one of them was a blowout. The easy choice for Player of the D.A.Y. is therefore Manu Ginobili. 31 points for the Spurs in their win over the Kings.

I also want to give special recognition to Notre Dame’s Colin Falls, who took 17 shots, hitting 7 of them. All 17 of those shots were three pointers. I have never heard of something like this, other than Mark Price in the NBA All-Star game one year. You’d think the guy would take a two or score on a layup by accident. But Boeheim stayed with his patented zone, and the easiest way to beat a defense that packs it in is to shoot from outside. But man, 17 threes from one player?
