Hawks 86, Nets 91

This game was close throughout, but a big three by Mirza Teletovic with about a minute to go iced the game for Brooklyn.

Mirza finished with 16 points (4 threes), and has done a really nice job as a floor-stretcher this season. Joe Johnson led the Nets with 23 points against his old squad, and Alan Anderson chipped in 14. KG snagged 10 boards in 25 minutes, and Andrei Kirilenko managed 21 minutes in the win, a welcome sight for the injury-plagued Nets.

The Hawks got 16 from both Paul Millsap (4/12) and Jeff Teague (5/15) in the loss. The team shot under 39 percent from the field and 8/24 from deep on the night.

Timberwolves 126, Sixers 95

Minnesota dropped 32, 38 and 35 in the first three quarters, respectively, last night in Philly, putting this game away early. Kevin Love led the way with 26 points. Corey Brewer, Nikola Pekovic (14 boards), Alexey Shved, JJ Barea, Dante Cunningham and Kevin Martin all joined him in double-figures. The T-Wolves were on fire from downtown, connecting on 16/26 tries.

Philly’s high-man was Thaddeus Young with 20. James Anderson (14 and 7) and Michael Carter-Williams (13, 7 and 4) were solid in the loss.

Magic 81, Clippers 101

The final score says this was a 20-point game, but it really wasn’t even that close. Lob City led 80-45 at one point in the third quarter.

Darren Collison paced the team while filling in for Chris Paul. He finished with 21 points, 7 dimes and 4 steals in 36 minutes. DeAndre Jordan continued his amazing season with 14 and 17 with 8 blocks, and Blake Griffin kicked in 16, 8, 6 and 3 steals.

Andrew Nicholson (7/13, 22 points) and Victor Oladipo (8/15, 22 points) were the lone bright spots for the Magic.

Bonus: Vintage Show Of The Day

This season, I’ll be posting a semi-random highlight video of a former baller at the bottom of my Post Ups. Today I present a preseason fight between Charles Barkley and Charles Oakley in ’96.
