After tying Reggie Miller’s record late in the first half of Game 3 against the Milwaukee Bucks, Miami Heat sharpshooter Ray Allen rose up and knocked down the 321st postseason three-pointer of his Hall of Fame career. Per the Journal Sentinel: “He outscored LeBron James. He made more shots than Monta Ellis and Brandon Jennings combined. And with 23 points in the 104-91 victory against the Bucks, the NBA’s all-time three-point shooting champion also became its most prolific playoff three-point shooter in the arena he never wanted to leave in the first place. Allen shot down the Bucks by making 5 of 8 three-pointers. He was the best thing the Heat had going when it made its signature pull-away move late in the third quarter. Afterward, [Dwyane] Wade thanked him for being there. So did his Miami coach, Erik Spoelstra. […] Allen said he has measured his enjoyment with the Heat by how quickly the season has passed. As for the record he earned Thursday night – he now has 322 three-pointers in the playoffs, two more than Reggie Miller – Allen mentioned inspiration from a few familiar names. ‘I think about all the guys who came before me,’ Allen said. ‘So many great players, great shooters. I’ve been able to come in and make my mark. Reggie set the bar. Craig Hodges. I played with Dale Ellis and Dell Curry. I looked up to those guys. And Ricky Pierce. I played with great shooters, so I had the chance to see what it took to prepare. I’m just carrying on that torch. Maybe a kid looking up to me will be looking at my record one day to take down.'”
