Report: Arron Afflalo Re-Signs in Denver for 5 Years, $43 Million

The Denver Nuggets continue to slowly piece back together their team, re-signing Arron Afflalo to a contract extension. Reports the Denver Post: “Almost a week after they re-signed Nene, the Nuggets and Arron Afflalo agreed on terms of a new contract — for five years and as much as $43 million, an NBA source said — that will keep one of the league’s budding shooting guards in Denver. Afflalo, 26, averaged 12.6 points last season while showcasing gritty defense and intensity. Nuggets coach George Karl has called Afflalo one of the favorite players he’s ever coached. When the NBA lockout ended, the Nuggets’ priorities were to bring back Nene and Afflalo. Both could receive the enticing fifth contractual year that other teams couldn’t offer. Nene signed a five-year deal worth $67 million.”
