Report: Bismack Biyombo To Opt Out, Become Free Agent

Friday night might have been Bismack Biyombo’s the last game in a Raptors uniform.

According to ESPN’s Marc Stein, Biyombo will decline his $2.9 million player option for next season and become an unrestricted free agent this summer.

Biyombo saw his stock soar after a breakthrough postseason that included a 26-rebound effort in Game 3 of the Eastern Conference finals.

Stein reports that the Congolese-born big man could command north of $15 million per year, which would effectively make it impossible for the Raptors retain him.
