Mike Woodson, Mike D’Antoni and interim head coach Melvin Hunt have all been linked to the vacancy in Denver.

Mike Malone is the third “Mike” being considered for the Nuggets job, according to ESPN.

Malone was fired by the Sacramento Kings this season:

The Denver Nuggets on Wednesday interviewed former Sacramento Kings coach Mike Malone for their coaching vacancy, according to league sources.

It was reported last month that the chances of Hunt retaining the job full time have improved in recent weeks, but D’Antoni and Malone formally met with the Nuggets this week as they begin to take their search to an advanced stage.

The Nuggets possess the league’s last remaining coaching vacancy, after New Orleans (Alvin Gentry), Orlando (Scott Skiles) and Chicago (Fred Hoiberg) made their hires in recent days.
