Report: Mike James to Washington; Antonio Daniels to N’awlins

by Marcel Mutoni

We had a bit of fun with the rumor of a Wizards/Grizzlies trade earlier this morning, and now, it looks as thought things might just get a tad more interesting. Ivan Carter of the Washington Post is reporting that a 3-team trade is hours from being completed.

Here are the details:

I’m hearing that Antonio Daniels is the player the Wizards would send to New Orleans, but the contracts don’t match (James is making $5.6 million this season and Daniels $6.2) so other players would have to be involved. New Orleans F Melvin Ely is a possibility.

It’s also possible that the Wizards and Grizzlies brought in a third team (New Orleans) in order to facilitate a trade involving Memphis G Javaris Crittenton.

The injury-plagued Daniels has seen his numbers take a nosedive all across the board this season, and Mike “Who” James isn’t exactly lighting it up in New Orleans either.

We’ll have an update should this become official, in the meantime, what do you think of the proposed deal?

Update: the trade is now officially official. Please adjust your lives accordingly.
