Ty Lawson With Second DUI Arrest This Year

Denver Nuggets point guard Ty Lawson’s disastrous offseason continues to get even worse—the 27-year-old was booked and charged with DUI for the second time this year.

Lawson was busted in Los Angeles early Tuesday morning; his first arrest happened back in January while driving in Denver.

Per the Denver Post:

Denver Nuggets point guard Ty Lawson is being held in Los Angeles on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs, the second time in six months he has been arrested on such allegations. […] Lawson is being held in lieu of $5,000 bail at the Los Angeles County Jail, records show.

Jail records show he was arrested about 2:30 a.m. on Tuesday morning. Los Angeles police say he was taken into custody by the California Highway Patrol.

Lawson was arrested in January in Denver on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol after he was pulled over traveling 61 mph in a 35 mph zone on Park Avenue West, according to a Denver police report. […] The officer noted that Lawson’s speech was slurred, his “breath had a strong odor of an unknown alcoholic beverage, balance was swaying/stumbling, eyes were bloodshot/watery.” Lawson refused to submit to a chemical test and was taken to the Downtown Detention Center, the report said.
