Rodney Stuckey Broke His Thumb on a Car Door

The Detroit Pistons announced last night that guard Rodney Stuckey suffered a fractured right thumb after catching it in the door of his car. Yikes. Per the Detroit Free Press: “The team says he suffered the injury when his thumb was caught inside the door jamb of his vehicle Wednesday afternoon. X-rays revealed the break, and surgery is scheduled for Friday and then a timetable for his return will be given. With a broken bone, it’s apparent that Stuckey will be out for a considerable amount of time. He missed 27 games as a rookie because of a broken bone in his left hand. He was having a good camp defensively. Pistons coach Maurice Cheeks went out of his way to compliment his defensive work Wednesday afternoon. Stuckey was in the running to be in the starting lineup when the regular season begins Oct. 30, but Kyle Singler got the nod against the Heat.”
