Sixers Hire Doug Collins as Their New Coach

Doug is leaving TNT to roam the sidelines in Philly. An interesting decision from both parties. The Inquirer reports: “According to an NBA source, the 76ers have agreed to terms with Doug Collins; he will become the team’s next head coach. The announcement will come tomorrow and Collins could be introduced as early as Monday. Although contract amount was not immediately known, one source indicated that the two parties have agreed to a 4-year deal. Collins, 58, has been the frontrunner since he first interviewed with Sixers President and General Manager Ed Stefanski on May 1. Since then, Stefanski has kept in contact with Collins’ camp about every other day, keeping him updated on a coaching search that spanned more than a month and included interviews with seven candidates.”
