Another day, another dollar (read: fine). The Orlando Sentinel has the 411: “Magic coach Stan Van Gundy was fined $35,000 by the NBA for saying that referees are targeting Dwight Howard. Stu Jackson, NBA executive vice president of basketball operations, announced the fine on Saturday. Van Gundy made the public comments after the Magic’s win Thursday night against the New York Knicks. Asked by the Sentinel about Howard picking up his league-leading 12th technical foul, Van Gundy said the referees are ‘looking’ for Howard to react to fouls calls. ‘…I mean, they’re looking for him, there’s no question,’ Van Gundy said. ‘They make a call on him, they’re looking to see his reaction. Other guys get away with stuff. He’s not going to.'”
