Steve Kerr: ‘Talent Is Not Going To Be Enough’

The Golden State Warriors are unquestionably the most talented team in the NBA. But after two games, Golden State was shown some warts, especially on the defensive end.

Head coach Steve Kerr played on quite a few talented teams himself and knows that in the NBA, it takes more than talent to win championships. After Friday night’s win over the Pelicans, Kerr told ESPN that his team is “going to have to get so much better:”

“We’re going to have to get so much better,” Kerr said after the game. “You can see how much work we have ahead. We have plenty of talent but talent is not going to be enough.”

The Warriors take on the Phoenix Suns today, a team that gave Russell Westbrook and the Thunder all it could handle on Friday night.
