In the NBA world, athletes in that particular universe are subject to physical rigors that most laypeople cannot comprehend. For the elite basketball player, his/her body is his/her literal temple and principal livelihood, and while the roughly 400 players in the NBA put their bodies and minds to the test daily and yearly, those outside of that realm (in the so-called real world) also have become just as conscious about their fitness and health. The FIT is a series that will concentrate on the Fuel, Information and Training (F.I.T.) that it takes for both NBAers and laypersons to be at their very best in the world, as well as focusing on the literal Food, Intelligence and Technology that also comes into play in our physical fine-tuning—because after all, without having the vital fuel, guidelines and tech advancements to feed our bodies, help us better absorb and process what’s necessary, and make the labor efficient and effective, we don’t have much to advance our collective health and performance. The FIT is here to bring to light what can make us all the uniquely tuned creatures who we presently are and can continue or aspire to be.

Rest and energy. These are the essential building blocks for the NBA basketball player, and really for all basketball players. Without rest, energy is never at a premium, and with no energy, rest is crucial to replenishing what isn’t there. This is what we know as a truth of living, and when playing a sport as dynamic as basketball, or even in training, it’s essential to begetting the best performance possible. And so it goes that CieAura has decided to enter the marketplace with their signature brand of performance products, and specifically so with their CX2 Wristband.

Said to boost one’s “balance, energy, endurance, and mental focus and clarity,” CieAura has burst on to the scene with its patented hologram technology, through which said attributes of one’s body are supposed to be enhanced. This is what CieAura, an authorized product representative of the NBA, says of its so-called “most powerful energy band in the world”:

Research has shown that each of the millions of molecules in a cell vibrate at their own vibratory character to regulate the body. When these vibrations become abnormal or out of sync, the result can be illness, fatigue or other problems. CieAura converts natural vibrations into intrinsic energies and embeds various proprietary formulas of these intrinsic energies into the hologram on the CX2 Plus wristband using trade secret technology. CieAura’s energies interact with the body’s vibrational system to move your body to its optimum vibrational level and achieve desired results. CieAura’s wristband technology is the strongest known to man. The bracelet works non-invasively by stimulating specific acupuncture meridians.

With that stated, I can only take CieAura’s word for their science, but luckily for me, I’ve had the pleasure in being able to try a CX2 Wristband for myself.

After meeting with a CieAura sales representative personally, I acquired an energy band for myself. I can’t attest that there is a noticeable difference in prolonged energy, I can’t attest to a distinct balance difference, I can’t attest to any true noticeable difference in my endurance (although, I don’t find myself getting as tired in my workouts), and I can’t say at all that my mental focus and clarity are renewed in some way (for those people who know me personally, they already say that I’m plenty focused and tuned-in), but this thing I can say—my sleep has been significantly smoother in the two-plus months that I’ve been wearing the band. My rest has definitely improved.

I’m the type of person who can be up from 18 to over 24 hours. It’s the way I tend to work as an independent publishing professional and writer, which has its own sets of positives and negatives (main positive: time and flexibility; main negative: no guaranteed salary), and so with that comes a lot of “nights” (or mornings, really) where I don’t all of the sleep I need and the following day that I awake is almost a reset day for me to get back to a semi-normal time schedule. Having worn the CieAura CX2 Wristband, whether I’ve gotten three or 10 hours of sleep, I’ve awakened within a range of positive degrees of refreshment. My sleep has been noticeably smoother and when I’ve gotten less than I’ve wanted, I still feel OK. As a creature of habit, I know what I do and how it affects me for the most part, and so I can confidently say that if nothing else, this supposed energy band enhances my slumber a significant degree. I don’t know anyone who wouldn’t want to sleep smoother, and so I can feel confident in giving CieAura’s CX2 Wristband some added positive vibes.

Rest? CHECK. Energy? The word’s still out…
