Walsh-D’Antoni-Marbury Have Their Chat, Resolve Nothing

by Marcel Mutoni

What, you were expecting something else?

The only thing that came out of the meeting, apparently, is the possibility that Walsh doesn’t agree with D’Antoni’s decision to not give Marbury any playing time at all. In fact, Donnie seemed completely unaware that Steph wouldn’t see the floor in the season opener, and had no say in him being listed as inactive thereafter.

From the NY Daily News:

When questioned on the logic behind not playing Marbury since he is on the roster, healthy and under contract, Walsh replied: “That’s the whole point. That’s the whole point. I would agree with that.”

“The issue is he’s not playing and you guys are asking me,” Walsh told reporters. “I want to understand why and I want (to ask) our coach (why). If he’s got valid reasons, that’s one thing. If not … that’s what we’re talking about.”

The Knicks simply never cease to amaze, do they?

Because they can’t get their act together, the Players’ Union is now thinking of intervening in this mess. Good luck with that.
