Wesley Matthews Underwent Elbow Surgery


Portland Trail Blazers guard Wes Matthews had successful arthroscopic debridement on his left elbow today, and he’s expected to be ready by the start of training camp. Per the team’s press release: “The procedure was performed by Dr. Ken Yamaguchi at Washington University Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, Mo. Matthews’ recovery time is expected to be 3-4 weeks. In his fourth NBA season and third with the Trail Blazers in 2012-13, Matthews averaged 14.8 points, 2.8 rebounds, a career-best 2.5 assists, a team-high 1.30 steals and 34.8 minutes in 69 games (all starts).”
