W.I.N.N.E.R.S.

By Sam Rubenstein

It is FRI-DAY, the best day of the week. The Pistons march through the playoffs has met little resistance. For all the talk about LeBron and the Cavs taking it easy this season, I can remember the Pistons playing hard for about 2 or 3 weeks. They had a long winning streak as soon as they picked up Webber, and it gave them enough separation to be able to hold on to home court all the way through. They even went through a stretch where every member of the team seemed to be taking time off with “the flu.” The two teams having the easiest time in the playoffs are the ones that went through the motions in the regular season. As for last night’s W.I.N.N.E.R., it’s Tayshaun Prince with 23 and 11. Glad that’s out of the way.

Yesterday we put up Omar’s final slamonline review, which was Spiderman 3. I just saw the trailer for another movie that is begging for an Omar review, but you’ll have to go to his new locale to find it. That movie is Fantastic 4:Rise of the Silver Surfer. The first F4 movie was unspeakably horrible. Dr. Doom was in costume for about 5 minutes. So, they have a lot of work to do to make up for that debacle. However, there was a huge difference in the quality between X-Men and X2. This trailer makes it look like the Fantastic Four series will be the same. Or maybe I’m just a sucker? Whatever, I just want to see Galactus.

Alright, tonight it’s Golden State-Utah in their blessedly entertaining series. The Utah fans won’t be there to hurl racial slurs at the Warriors players. Tomorrow the NBA goes back to the two game per night format.

Have a great weekend everyone.
