Wizards Extend Andray Blatche

Blatche has signed a three-year extension worth roughly $28 million, reports the Washington Post‘s Michael Lee. Blatche, who’s rehabbing a foot injury, has been cleared for basketball activities but may not go full-contact during the first few weeks of training camp: “According to two league sources with knowledge of the situation, Blatche agreed to an extension that that will pay him an additional $28 million, plus bonuses, and keep him with the team through the 2014-15 season. Blatche had two seasons left on his deal and could’ve become an unrestricted free agent in 2012, but the Wizards didn’t want to take the risk of letting him go on the open market with the possibility of lockout looming after this season, one source said.”
