Worthy of Your Attention

Pistons @ Celtics: Following his one-game suspension, Kevin Garnett steps back on the floor just in time. The Pistons, playing on back-to-back nights, will look to spoil KG’s return in Beantown.

Detroit is playing extremely well of late, having won four of their last five (including satisfying victories against the Lakers and Cavs). This will also be the Pistons’ chance at revenge after the demoralizing Boston win in Detroit last Sunday.

Lakers @ Suns: Here we go again. The nauseating Shaq-Kobe-Phil storyline will be at the forefront again tonight, and as usual, there’s a little something extra prior to game time.

Shaquille O’Neal was forced to clarify remarks (made in the preseason) about him potentially returning to the Lakers when he becomes a free agent in 2010. Wouldn’t that be something?

Oh, right…the game. All eyes will be on the matchups down low: Shaq and Amare vs. Bynum and Gasol. That should be fun to observe. Though I certainly don’t expect the Lakers to have as easy a time with the Suns as they did last year, tonight would be a good time to send an early-season message.
