2011 King of New York Basketball Classic

Teamwork Foundation Inc., a 501 (C ) 3 non profit charity of the legendary Bronx based New York Gauchos Basketball program is set to host the King of New York Basketball Classic, Friday, May 6 – Sunday, May 8, 2011.

The King of New York Basketball Classic welcomes 80 of the best elite boys basketball travel teams to the Bronx for the 2nd Annual 3 day basketball tournament May 6 – May 8.  The New York Gauchos have expanded the field of teams this year by adding a new 6th Grade Division. Since 1967, the New York Gauchos Basketball program has been serving under privileged kids from the Mott Haven and Harlem communities.  Many of the Gauchos notable alumni have earned college scholarships and many have earned NBA honors. The Gauchos’ Kemba Walker led the UCONN Huskies to their third NCAA Division 1 Championship.  Kemba was named the tournament’s most outstanding player.

Top basketball programs as Albany City Rocks, New Heights, New Jersey Playaz, Riverside Church, Team Scan, and many other nationally recognized elite youth boy’s basketball teams will be in the Bronx competing for the coveted basketball crown of the King of New York Basketball Classic.

The three day tournament will be played at venues in the Bronx, and upper Manhattan including the world famous Gauchos Gymnasium located at 478 Gerard Avenue Bronx NY 10451. King of New York Venues: Fordham University Rose Hill Campus, Harry S. Truman High School 750 Baychester Avenue, Bronx, John F. Kennedy High School 99 Terrace View Avenue, Bronx, Kips Bay Boys & Girls Club 1930 Randall Avenue, Bronx, Lehman High School 3000 East Tremont Avenue, Bronx, The Urban Assembly School for Careers In Sports 730 Concourse Village, Bronx NY 10451, Hooperstown 300 East Sandford Blvd, Mount Vernon NY 10550, MS 302 681 Kelly St Bronx NY 10455.

Basketball fans from across the Tri-state area will be able to watch the top basketball players in the country during the tournament.  Tickets will be sold on Friday for $5.00, $8.00 on Saturday and $5.00 on Sunday.  The day pass gives access to all venues and all games for the specific day that the pass was purchased on. The price is a great bargain for anyone in NYC who would like to attend the King of New York tournament.
