Anthony Davis and Eric Gordon Shut Down for Rest of the Season

With just four games to go in the regular season, and nothing left to play for, the New Orleans Pelicans (32-46) announced Thursday that All-Star center Anthony Davis (back spasms) and guard Eric Gordon (left knee) would sit out the remainder of the season. From the press release:

Davis was examined by team physicians, who determined that his injury will require 1-2 weeks of rest and rehabilitation.

Gordon will undergo arthroscopic surgery on his left knee next week and is expected to make a full recovery.

In 67 games (66 starts) this season, Davis has averaged 20.8 points, 10.0 rebounds, and 2.8 blocks in 35.2 minutes per game.

Gordon started all 64 games he appeared in this season and averaged 15.4 points, 3.3 assists and 1.2 steals in 32.1 minutes per game.
