Practice?! Yes, practice: Nelson worked out individually on Monday and will practice with the team today and Wednesday in hopes of convincing Magic general manager Otis Smith and head coach Stan Van Gundy that he can help in the finals. Both already have their doubts, and Van Gundy warned that even if Nelson can play, he almost assuredly won’t contribute the punch he did against the Lakers during the regular season. ‘You don’t have any idea what he can add because he hasn’t played in four months,’ Van Gundy said. ‘The one thing I know for sure is that you’re not going to get the Jameer Nelson from when he got hurt and he was playing at an All-Star level. That’s fantasyland right there to think you’ll get that after four months of not having played basketball. We’ll watch him practice and we’ll have a better idea of what he can give us. But even after practice you won’t have a great idea because practice and games are so different.’”
