Nearly two weeks after head coach Buzz Williams left the program to take the head coaching job at Virginia Tech, Marquette has found its new coach.

Longtime Duke assistant and former Blue Devil point guard Steve Wojciechowski has reportedly taken the Golden Eagle coaching job. The terms and conditions of his contract have yet to be announced, and the school has yet to make a formal announcement.

Via ESPN:

Wojciechowski, 37, played at Duke in the late 1990s. He has been on Mike Krzyzewski’s staff since 1999 and was elevated to associate head coach in 2008.

He replaces Buzz Williams, who led Marquette to the NCAA tournament in five of his six seasons at the helm.

Williams left last month for Virginia Tech following a 17-15 campaign in which the Golden Eagles failed to make the postseason.

Wojciechowski was widely considered a top candidate to replace Mike Krzyzewski when Coach K decides to retire.
