Things have been going pretty good for Josh Pastner this year. His 16th-ranked Memphis Tigers are 6-1 on the season and boast a huge win over 7th-ranked Oklahoma State.
Now, Pastner has set a University of Memphis record. Not for anything on the basketball court, but rather for the largest donation ever made to the school by a coach.
From WREG:
“I am very proud to announce that our men’s basketball coach Josh Pastner has made a $250,000 donation to our capital campaign”, said Memphis Athletics Director Tom Bowen. “Josh’s gift is the largest ever made by a Memphis coach and will be used for sport enhancements and improvements.
“We are making great strides in building a culture of champions at the University of Memphis”, Bowen stated. “As part of our strategic plan, we are working to enhance programs and facilities for all our student-athletes and sports.”
Pastner’s donation will go toward various athletic endeavors at the University, including a $40 million plan to upgrade the school’s athletic facilities.
