New Draftees Malik Beasley, Brice Johnson and Malachi Richardson Attend TopSpin Charity Event

The TopSpin Charity hosted an event the other day to raise money for their Inaugural Hoops Academy coming in August. The funds raised at the event will all go towards their Hoops Academy that will be led by NBA coaches.

TopSpin was founded in ’09 and focuses on getting children the proper education that they need. Several of the newly drafted NBA players and current NBA players were in attendance at the event including Malik Beasley, Brice Johnson, Malachi Richardson, Chris McCullough and Markel Brown.

“This is a good event. You give back to the community and kids around the tristate area,” says McCullough.

The hosts of the event, including NBA Deputy Commissioner Mark Tatum, were expecting to raise over $50,000 for the Inaugural Hoops Academy , which begins on August 12 and finishes up August 16.

“I’ve been helping out for awhile now,” says Markel Brown. “It’s a blessing to be able to be in a position to show your face and to be able to impact and help out anyway possible.”
