Some of the NBA’s best have traveled to Hawaii to spend time with and entertain America’s troops and their families as part of the USO’s “Hoops For Troops” tour. During the first two days of the week-long tour, players such as Tyreke Evans, Derrick Rose and Joe Johnson amongst others have lead youth clinics, shared basketball techniques, toured military facilities, played one-on-one against military personnel and, most importantly, uplifted the spirits of wounded soldiers. “Supporting our nation’s military community has always been important to me,” says Derrick Rose, via a press release. “Whether I am extending my thanks to our troops on the front lines, visiting military families back at home, playing ball with wounded warriors, or participating on USO tours like this that are designed to uplift the spirits of those stationed around the globe, it is an honor for me anytime I am able to give.” Click through the gallery above to get a closer look at the players’ experience on the USO tour thus far.
