St. Anthony & Trenton Catholic Win NJSIAA TOC

Last night at the Izod Center, St. Anthony capped an undefeated season (33-0) after defeating Plainfield, 61-49. Rutgers-bound guard Myles Mack and nationally renowned junior Kyle Anderson led the way with 17 points each. Since Hall-of-Famer head coach Bob Hurley took the helm 34 years ago, the program has achieved sixth undefeated seasons and have won 11 TOC titles.

McDonald’s All-American Briyona Canty’s 17 points, five rebounds and four assists helped lead Trenton Catholic to a 54-49 victory over Neptune — last year’s champs — and the school’s first ever girls Tournament of Champions title. Last year, Trenton Catholic’s boys team took home the TOC trophy.  The school becomes the first in the state to have both programs — boys and girls — win the TOC title. The game featured three Rutgers-bound players in Canty and Neptune’s Shakena Richardson and Syessence Davis.
