Make your predictions for round 1, win a new hat!
by Ben Osborne
As of today, New Era is now carrying NBA licensed caps at their flagship stores, and they want to celebrate by giving three lucky SLAMonline readers a hat of their choosing!
Check out this press release and then keep reading to find out to win:
“New Era Cap Flagship Stores to Now Carry NBA Licensed Caps: The relationship between New Era Cap, the leading headwear designer and manufacturer, and the National Basketball Association (NBA) dates back to the late 1990s, when New Era began designing and creating caps with the franchise’s Hardwood Classic logos.
Now, with the playoffs finally upon us, New Era Cap has great news for NBA fans! Starting on April 22nd, 2009, fans can walk into any New Era Flagship store in North America (Atlanta, Buffalo, New York City and Toronto) and purchase their favorite NBA team cap on a signature 59FIFTY. In the past, New Era NBA fitted caps could only be purchased at NBA arenas.
Each of the 30 NBA teams as well as “Logoman” will be featured in each Flagship store. New Era will continue to carry Hardwood Classic caps as well.
Later this year, there are plans to launch various fashion colors featuring NBA logos.”
Normally we go the essay route with these contests, but I think where we’re at in the Playoffs calls for a different type of contest. Here’s what you need to do. In the comment section below, please list what team you think will win each series. Sample entry that just may reflect my opinion (don’t worry—even if I’m right, which I never am, I won’t keep any hats): “Lakers, Nuggets, Spurs, Blazers, Cavs, Celtics, Sixers, Hawks.”
I’ll let people enter til end of day Friday, then close comments and see what happens. When the first round is over we’ll look at how many people are right. Assuming more than three do, we’ll print out the names and do a little drawing in the SLAM Dome and pick three. The three winners will then be contacted to find out what team’s hat they’d like, and once we hear back we’ll get the hats in the mail. Between getting the chance to show your Playoff prognostication skills for all to see and winning a fresh new hat, I can’t see why anyone wouldn’t enter.
By the way, here’s a look at some versions of the hat you’ll be competing for:
As always, thanks for playing!
