Post Up: 3rd Time’s a Charm

Bulls force Game 7. Everything else fades to black.

by Holly MacKenzie / @stackmack

Okay people, how the hell do you try to describe what we all witnessed last night?

Second best game I’ve seen all year (the first is still Cuse/UConn’s 6 OT’s, for me), and definitely the best first-round series I’ve ever witnessed.

Triple-overtime, 51 points from Ray Allen, three Celtics fouling out, Rose with the block at the end of the game, Hinrich’s missed layup (where I did sort of have a yelp of agony escape my lips), Noah’s steal and slam, John Salmons hearing my pleas for the Bulls to go to the hoop.

Ray Allen’s three-pointers.

All nine of them.

And all 18 attempts, too.

Brad Miller knocking down all five of his free throw attempts and above all else, the Bulls coming back from eight down in the final minutes of regulation where they looked like they were dead. Oh, it was an amazing night. And, for any Canadian readers, Game 7 will be on The Score Saturday evening. Seriously, thank God everyone in Canada will have access to this one.

K, back to the gane, we are so lucky to have had a series like this to open the playoffs.

Best first-round series ever?

It’s the best I’ve ever seen. The games just keep on getting better. I’d be happy with another two weeks of these teams going at it.

I also thought Rondo was going to be tossed with the tossing of Hinrich into the scorer’s table.

Man, there are no real words for a game like that. Series like that. Overtimes like that.

Epic. Classic. Amazing. Everything.

Everything that I love about this game was on display last night.

In other news, the Sixers absolutely crashed and burned, our boy Till has the game story on that and in Houston, the Rockets took out the Blazers and they will face the Lakers next round for their troubles.

So tell me, favorite moment(s), in the game last night and is this the best first round series ever?

And suddenly, it’s 4:30am and time for me to retire. Let’s talk about this game.

Oh yes. Rondo had 19 assists, 0 turnovers, 57 minutes and one hell of a dance with fate for tossing Hinrich into the scorer’s table in the first quarter.

So amazing, indeed.

PS. @russbengtson Twitter of the night, “Paul Pierce against Ben Gordon could be subtitled Truth or Dare.”

Pains me to say it….but Noah looked like an NBA player for one play last night. Nice play all around by that big gawk.

  • http://www.hibachi20.blogspot.com Hursty

Just to be an ocker, Houston!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
In other news, the Bulls beat the Celtics. It was a pretty good game.

  • ber

Having no cable, I was left with following the game using ESPN’s Gamecast. Still very exciting!

  • http://www.hibachi20.blogspot.com Hursty

Fine, Ray Ray was really f*cking good. Really.
Does anyone else think that maybe Glen Davis can be a serviceable starter for a midrange team in 2-3 years? He can shoot the ball a lot better than I suspected.
BTW, Yao was hitting that 18-20 foot jumpshot… danger Andrew Bynum! Danger!

  • slamfan4life

    Ray=Beast
    Rondo=sorry excuse of a player

  • slamfan4life

    Ray=Beast
    Rondo=sorry excuse of a player
    GO BULLS

  • slamfan4life

and i would say Noahs poster on Pierce followed by roses block…and cant forget the 3s Miller and Salmons hit…….God im so lucky i went to the game :)

  • RM

Baby definitely surprised me with that jumper. Who knew? I couldn’t believe how the bulls came back after the celtics’ 17-0 run. THANK YOU Sactown for John Salmons and Brad Miller. Wow

  • Rich

NO WORDS to describe this game. It was four hours long! And I’m exhausted this morning at work just by watching it. I thought the season was over when they were down by 8 in the closing minutes, but Boston gave up the lead just like the Bulls did earlier in the fourth.

NO ONE really knows what’s gonna happen Saturday. NOBODY. Garnett might suit up, who knows.

  • http://www.shawn-kemps-offspring.blogspot.com/ TADOne

Best first round series ever? Man, I would be bold enough to say this is one of the best playoff series ever, period.

  • http://www.hibachi20.blogspot.com Hursty

@ber- watch it on justin.tv its a real site, with free streaming of the games live. You dont have to give your email, or log in to anything either. The footage is a little bit grainy, but it covers 90% of regular season games, and all the playoffs.

  • http://www.shawn-kemps-offspring.blogspot.com/ TADOne

Oh, and Rondo should have been tossed again. For the second time.

  • http://shawn-kemps-offspring.blogspot.com Cheryl

That game was amazing. The baby bulls are looking all grown up. Can they really beat Boston? And if they can (and that’s a medium-sized “if”) I think they can take Orlando too. Who would’ve thought the Bulls would be playing in the ECF this year?? Wow.

  • http://shawn-kemps-offspring.blogspot.com Cheryl

And to think Miller and Salmons were real close to being in Heat unis…

  • Epsilon Nupe

John Salmons looked like an allstar out there, Paul couldn’t check him the whole game.

  • ENDS

Ya’ll N**** gonna act like My Magic didn’t just do what none of ya’ll thought they could do huh. Don’t make me break my vow of silence

  • Dave

Anybody think that Rondo might still get a suspension? The league reviews these things always. He showed a great deal of malice and put Hinrich in danger.

  • ENDS

No Magic Mention anywhere on the Site this Morning. Tighten up Slam

  • Tavoris

man it’s kinda hard 2 NOT be a Bulls fan right now.

  • http://www.shawn-kemps-offspring.blogspot.com/ TADOne

Um, the Magic beat the Sixers in the first round. Who said they wouldn’t do that??

  • BostonBaller

AMAZING GAME/SERIES. The Baby Bulls vs The OLD men who had no chance. slamfan4life gets his SLAM card pulled, no explaination needed. Rondo & Hinrich were going at it and it was a fling not a toss (like you flick away an annoying nat) but what anout Hinrichs shove in retaliation? Let’s not get into all this back and forth that Russ is trying to create w/ the 2 mentions of Rondo & Hinrich. lol.

  • Epsilon Nupe

Tadone is right it was more than obvious that the Magic were gonna beat the sixers, I’m from Philly and we all knew that here

  • Andrew

Hursty – it’s me back. Original and all that. Finally got the interweb connected in my new house.

My posts will be far less frequent and nowhere near as poignant, but they will appear, randomly, and without warning…

oh, and let me know if you wanna run that sneaker thing on yr blog again. that was fun.

  • etaboliserum

1.look at the celtics roster right now. this team is banged up and without the defensive and spiritual leader.
    2. ray allen has ONE night like this but has had a sub-par series and is done with 50 point nights
    3. derrick rose hasnt had a great game since game 1…hes gonna go off game 7

  • BostonBaller

Let us enjoy last nights game and get amped for game 7!! Miller came through, Salmons stepped up big time, Henrich’s D was on point and Boston (Pierce) literally threw the game away. I still think Pierce is one of the top players in this league and Ray did what he does, You have to remember that he is in a different role w/ The C’s. Davis has been hitting his jumper since day 1, it’s just gotten better. Rondo should not have tried to win the game, he should have stuck w/ setting the table. He will learn.

  • BostonBaller

Rose is tremendous and when he learns to take over games on a consistent basis the L better watch out! He defers too much but other than that he is a top PG w/ SG skills to boot. He & Rondo will be top 5 PG’s within 2 years. Call me a Boston Homer if you like but Rondo has improved each year and next year he BETTER have a legit jumper.

  • http://www.shawn-kemps-offspring.blogspot.com/ TADOne

I agree that both Rondo and Rose can be top 5 in two years. Rose doesn’t surprise me. Rondo I didn’t see coming.

  • http://www.shawn-kemps-offspring.blogspot.com/ TADOne

    Errrr….top 5 PG’s that is.

  • http://sfdjilf.com Jukai

That’s twice Rondo should have been gone. Is the NBA in bed with the Celtics or what?

  • http://www.shawn-kemps-offspring.blogspot.com Izzo

Can someone send me all these games on DVD?Thanks.

  • http://ittakesanationofmillionstoholdthissac.blogspot.com ciolkstar

Yeah, even as a Rondo fan I think him throwing Heinrich into the scorer’s table was complete bullsh1t.
Noah, Brad Meezy and Salmons were incredible. Ray was just bananas. That block by Rose to seal it was fantastic. What a game.

  • ber

    Thanks, Hursty!

  • http://sfdjilf.com Jukai

Thanks to Rondo and Garnett and the incredible PUNKNESS of the Celtics, I am now an avid Bulls fans. Let’s go CHICAGOOOOO!

  • Candice

    I don’t know jukai all I know is as a bull’s fan I’m exhausted

  • http://www.shawn-kemps-offspring.blogspot.com Eboy

I thought Jukai was rooting for the Cavs?

  • http://lastknickstanding.blogspot.com Bryan

    Paul Pierce flops a lot.

  • http://www.shawn-kemps-offspring.blogspot.com/ TADOne

I’m a Bulls fan. Is today opposite day?

  • http://sfdjilf.com Jukai

I wonder if Rondo will shoot Joakim Noah with a rifle next game. That’ll probably only be a flagrant one.

  • BostonBaller

Wow, we almost went 50 deep without trying to trash someone. lol. Darn, the boss is here and she wants to talk about the game…could be worse and she could want me to actually work

  • Glenn

Noah’s dunk was the highlight for me. I hate my team playing against him, but watching this series you have to respect the heart that he brings. That nasty dunk put the cap on the Celts.

  • http://www.kb24.com The Seed

Great series, hope Bulls win, also I agree with comments above, Bulls can beat Orlando, if Philly hung around with them.

  • http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pYa5u-lPS8c MooButter

Salmons made Pierce look like he was standing still on D. Magic had to go a game without Howard, let’s see if the L will stand up to Boston…I’m thinking no.

  • D-R

Damn, I’m torn. On one hand, this is the best first round series I’ve seen, and the most dramatic series I’ve seen period, and I really want to see a good game 7. That said, the NBA set 3 precedents that all but state Rondo should be tossed. 1: No matter how you make it look, chucking an opponent into the scorers table deliberately is a suspension (Horry/Nash), 2: It doesn’t matter how big the game is, you will be suspended (Horry/Nash), and 3: How the officials call it in game doesn’t negate Stu’s ability to suspend you. Your Move Stu Jackson. Your Integrity or this Series.

  • D-R

err, 3′s example is Dwight Howard recently.

  • http://coco-vents.blogspot.com Co Co

Rondo’s nickname should be benefit of doubt.

  • http://joeloholic.wordpress.com Joel O’s

Glen Davis really stepped up, too. If not for that boneheaded clobbering 6th foul he made, and PP’s totally needless desperate foul on Noah, there’s no way the final play of the game boils down to a forced Rondo shot… What a game.

  • Tavoris

hey Izzo…check out bballvideos.com. The best games are usually uploaded up there within a couple of hours of the ending.

  • http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pYa5u-lPS8c MooButter

    hahahaha @ Co Co

  • http://joeloholic.wordpress.com Joel O’s

@Moobutter: Asking whether the “L” will stand up to Boston implies that Stern and the referees are playing a big part in this series. I don’t agree. The fight this time is purely, purely between the players and coaches. As fans, a SINGLE horrendously called play stands out easily, but the other 100 possessions’ of refereeing often is never noticed and taken for granted. I didn’t notice a single horrible or biased call in all the OTs and the last few minutes of regulation. This was a very well referee-ed game.

  • http://www.manutd.com Z

Wow. Seriously, how does he NOT get booted out from the game!? Imagine if Sheed would have tossed Andy V onto the scorers’ table? Or Ron Artest? Artest would have prolly be banned from the playoffs altogether.

  • http://sfdjilf.com Jukai

Rajon Rondo is a sweet mix between Fat Lever and Kevin Johnson, dude is downright ballin’. That being said, I hate him and I hope there ain’t no Rondo for a game seven.

  • http://ittakesanationofmillionstoholdthissac.blogspot.com ciolkstar

Big Baby has been awesome, especially on offense, so many clutch buckets in OT. And there is NO WAY Rondo gets suspended. I’m not saying it shouldn’t be a possibility, but it just isn’t going to happen.

  • http://www.manutd.com Z

Not to be a party pooper or anything but the game should have ended sooner if VDN knew how to run a set play at the end of games. How many times do the Bulls come up with a sh!tty shot or no shot at all?!

  • http://www.broy7.com nate the great

that chig, bost game was off the hook.
i dont think either these teams will do good against orlando.
they must be drained and severly sore.
playing so many overtimes in a series will kill your body.
and dwight is going to have so must rest.
i gotta say tho.. best series iv seen.. ever. i hope the finals is this good.

  • http://coco-vents.blogspot.com Co Co

In Vinny’s defense he’s drawn up some pretty damn good plays too. Twice they had guys wide open in spots that they should have scored easily, but didn’t.

  • http://www.shawn-kemps-offspring.blogspot.com Izzo

    Thanks Tavoris.

  • http://slamonline.com Walt Williams

Salmons is what we call fools gold

  • http://www.lkz.ch Darksaber

that broken play early in the 4th (BG top of the key alley oop to Tyrus which didn’t count cause of Eddy fouling BG) was quite nice. And Salmons is a great offensive player, kept driving like a truck that guy. Impressive. Again Glen Davis has turned me into a fan. Great series for him. Can someone calm Rajon the eff down. That shove was a bonehead rookieish move. Also, dude gets to watch Jesus day in day out and hasn’t gotten himself a reliable jumper yet? Not good. And how does one spell Brad Miller? R.E.D.E.M.P.T.I.O.N. Those 5 points late in the 4th? Fan-freaking-tastic. Great series!

If Rondo gets away with that I’ll be pissed…I don’t care who it is or what game it is, a player better get at least 1 game for that.

  • Diesel

If you tossed Robert Horry for throwing someoene into a scorer’s table you have to do the same to Rondo. He should be gone for game 7. B-Rad’s 3 and drive layup to tie the game atthe end of the 4th were ridiculous.

  • http://www.shawn-kemps-offspring.blogspot.com/ TADOne

I think if Stu Jackson reviews the play and actually suspends Rondo for game 7, then Stern should also suspend the refs who reviewed the play during the game. I mean, they actually stopped the game and reviewed it on tape and only gave Rondo a flagrant 1 at the time. Bad officiating.

  • http://coco-vents.blogspot.com Co Co

Phoenix fans should just have alcohol on hand. He will not be suspended.

  • http://www.nba.com Reflex

  • http://www.lkz.ch Darksaber

Tony Allen is….. Tony Allen is just….. Arrrrgh what a scrub. Zero confidence and lots of boneheaded idiotic, ridiculous, stupidic, crazy moves to the basket!!! But he missed two easy shots late in regulation that would have probably deflated the Bulls! If i see any of the C’s mean muggin anymore in these playoffs, i’m swearing off em. The scared game of hot potatoe they were playin in the 4th was embarassing. NOT championship caliber at all.

  • Mooch

no suspension for Rondo. stop being sallies. Great game, Bulls are impressive in their ability to take punches and land back. That said, to me biggest moment of the night was when Del Negro went small and Doc countered by playing Tony Allen. Instead of continuing to use big baby to take advantage of bulls on offense, who put in TA for “defensive purposes,” even though he’s mediocre at best. Worst move of the playoffs, cost them the game. Bulls go on 9-0 run, tie it up, bam. Will never understand playing TA unless half the team is wiped out by pig flu.

  • http://www.manutd.com Z

Awesome series. Go Bulls! They definitely have a shot in Game 7. I’m a Chicagoan and a lifelong Bulls fan and this bodes wonders for the future.
It’s a little sad that the series is as great as it is because KG cannot play.
All of that said, there is NO WAY a banged-up, exhausted Bulls team beats a rested, hungry, Dwight-Howard-led Orlando.

  • http://www.lkz.ch Darksaber

    Z: doesn’t he already?

  • http://sfdjilf.com Jukai

Co Co and Z: No no, please, that vast feeling of neglect and disapointment in the league already HAPPENED when Rondo ran off the bench during the Zaza v Garnett skirmish and didn’t get suspended.

  • http://www.lkz.ch Darksaber

Glen has a Fro-Hawk now? Meh, unimportant. Dude is red hot balling. Like lava. He pull a Rodman for all i care.

  • http://sfdjilf.com Jukai

Plus I’ll also admit that Rondo’s toss and Horry’s super-bowl-tackle-to-the-chest-of-Nash were WAY different. I’m not sure if what Rondo did warrants a suspension. The problem is, it DID warrant being tossed out of the game, just as his strike on Brad Miller’s face warranted a flagrant one. So I don’t know, a suspension only seems RIGHT.

  • http://hibachi20.blogspot.com/ BETCATS

I dislike Glen Davis to the 5th extreme

  • http://slamonline.com/ Ryne Nelson

To me, it doesn’t matter if Rondo plays next game. The Bulls have been able to win despite not being able to contain him. What the Bulls have working in their favor is heart and passion. People have tried to put a finger on why this series is so compelling — the overtimes, the matchups, the hard fouls, the big shots, etc. But what really gets us interested is the heart of an underdog. The emotion that Chicago brings.

  • http://www.lkz.ch Darksaber

  • http://mindyourbusiness@getalife.com Allenp

The refs let Paul Pierce get away with a lot of borderline fouls late in that game after he picked up his fifth foul. I saw him give Hinrich at little elbow chop and he was riding Salmons like a horse when Salmons took it to the rim.
I thought you couldn’t touch players when they drive anymore? Cause the Celtics still seem to be using that little forearm on the Bulls players.

  • http://slamonline.com/ Ryne Nelson

Wait BET, was it Derrick who said they were the most dangerous in the League?

  • http://www.slamonline.com wayno

@ betcats – I think the Bulls are benefiting from a injury depleted Celtics team, so that’s making them look really good, but they’re still the best of the lower seeded teams in the east by far. They could make the ECF. They are very dangerous.

Yeah, Rondo’s great. But he seems to really fade in OT. Stats over *seven* overtime periods (35 minutes):
FIELD GOALS – 2/10 (0/2 from three-point line and 2/2 from the foul)
    REBOUNDS – 3
    ASSISTS – 4

Tadd good question. I’m nervous as hell for tomorrow. This series is so good,my father is recording them. He hasn’t recorded a bull’s game since “98.

  • http://www.lkz.ch Darksaber

i apologize for my rants today, but i missed the livecast and am now just watching the game. Ray just hit a 3 going left to right at full throttle, while fading to the left, with a defender allover him, with a few seconds left in the 2nd overtime. I can’t believe this! If i had watched this live, my neighbours woulda called the cops due to unruly behavior.

Ok Jukai, since the Bulls don’t seem to turn me off as much as the C’s, i’ll root for them to get steamrolled by the Cavs in the next round. Cool?

  • http://www.slamonline.com Myles Brown

No one just watches ‘their’ teams playoff games, pretty much everyone watches them all. And most people don’t/can’t watch such a hotly contested series and not have a rooting interest, even if it’s not ‘their’ team. I’d like to see the Bulls win, that doesnt make me a bandwagon jumper.

  • http://slamonline.com/ Ryne Nelson

TAD, the winner will draw the Magic. Better matchup for Boston, if you ask me.

  • http://slamonline.com/ Ryne Nelson

Myles is right. All he’s saying is the Bulls are appreciated.

    Anton, that was excellent. Thanks.

Word, Myles. This Bulls-Celts series is the craziest first round series since… “We Believe”.

  • http://joeloholic.wordpress.com Joel O’s

@Ryne: Those are some telling stats on OT Rondo. Do you think he fades due to fatigue, since he seems to go all out on every play of the game and can’t pace himself yet? Or is it just inexperience? Despite his youth he’s been through it all already, seemingly.

  • http://www.shawn-kemps-offspring.blogspot.com/ TADOne

I guess this is a good time to say I was being sarcastic.

  • vtrobot

everyone has to be a fan of ray allen. you have to be. he is the best shooter ever. i loved when one of the announcers said that the c’s were “running out of options” at the end of the 2nd overtime and i thinking, how are you running out of options when you’re down by 3 and you have ray? on cue, BAM! straight ill. i want it to be tomorrow already.

  • http://www.shawn-kemps-offspring.blogspot.com/ TADOne

Speaking of that Ray Allen 3, that was a great screen by Paul Pierce to free him up. It was a moving screen, but still great anyway.

  • Diesel

If the Bulls are givng the celtics all they can handle without Garnett, that just means the bulls would give them a run with garnett/win a championship when they get bosh next year.

  • http://sfdjilf.com Jukai

and speaking of the Celtics, who do you think Rondo will attack next game and how will he do it?

true TAD but moving screens are the bread & butter of Nba offenses.

  • Diesel

Rondo with a kick to the nuts of BG as punishment for grabbing them the other night. Refs will review and conclude that ROndo is just “being playful.”

  • http://www.lkz.ch Darksaber

it’s gonna be a Muay Thai style knee kick to Salmons sternum, Juks.

  • http://www.shawn-kemps-offspring.blogspot.com/ TADOne

    I like Diesel’s scenario.

  • http://double-technical.blogspot.com Zee!

I still think Dallas vs Golden State was the best series I’ve ever seen. Should game 7 go 3 overtimes, then I might change my mind.

  • http://www.lkz.ch Darksaber

“horse against god”. “truth or dare”. Bengtson is firing on all cylinders this postseason.

  • http://www.realcavsfans.com Anton

You guys should have put up a photo of KG from last night: sitting on the sideline quietly, head down, tail between his legs like a dog that’s been abused by Michael Vick.

  • http://www.lkz.ch Darksaber

The suit combo KG was wearing was NICE, though. Now about the rumors of him suiting up for game 7…. Feel like changing the lilac for green, big ticket?

  • http://slamonline.com Russ Bengtson

I seriously don’t even know what to write. I should probably just copy and paste my Twitter feed. The notes I took during the game are so bare-bones—”X did Y on a pass from Z”—because I didn’t want to turn my attention from the TV for a moment.

  • http://slamonline.com Russ Bengtson

also, @ Jukai 12:07, Rondo will stab Noah to death with a rusty screwdriver, and Noah will be called for a block.

  • http://slamonline.com/ Ryne Nelson

@Joel, Rondo’s probably the Celtics’ best athlete, and that’s saying a lot considering Ray Allen’s also on the team. Honestly, Rondo’s OT numbers are poor because they let Pierce have the ball and take it one-on-one almost every time. Either that, or Ray’s shooting a three.

  • http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RBQEmmgDl9I Boing Dynasty

Ray Allen isnt even in the top 5 “athletes” on the celtics.

  • http://www.shawn-kemps-offspring.blogspot.com/ TADOne

Um dude, have you seen Ray’s calves?

  • http://mindyourbusiness@getalife.com Allenp

I read on Sport On My Mind a good note about how Rondo and Pierce made some boneheaded decisions late in the overtimes and didn’t get Ray enough touches. The Celtics should have went to that old school Reggie Miller offense where everybody but the point guard sets a screen for Ray, he was that hot. His last three shots were ridiculously clutch, yet Pierce and Rondo took turns forcing up wack jumpers.
I wonder if Ray was pissed?
Pierce has actually been a quite suspect for many of the games this series. Just missing shots and making boneheaded plays. Hinrich has done a good job on him. Hinrich has also done a good job on Wade in the past, so I guess we should be surprised.

  • http://sfdjilf.com Jukai

TAD: We, as hetrosexual men, really don’t focus on that stuff. You do, it seems.

  • http://mindyourbusiness@getalife.com Allenp

Why is TAD checking out Ray’s calves?

  • http://slamonline.com Holly MacKenzie

I think Rondo’s stats go down because he’s not fully healthy out there. You saw him dragging his ankle last night. Then the whole “my feet were tired, it’s not my ankle”, thing last week. Guy is playing through pain and playing damn well. 19 assists, 0 turnovers in 57 minutes. So he didn’t score, he got the ball to Ray who was HOT. Unreal game. Unreal series. Bah!

  • http://mindyourbusiness@getalife.com Allenp

    Jukai beat me too it…
Actually, Ray Allen used to a be great athlete in his younger days, but he’s old and brittle now. The Cs are really missing PJ and Posey right now. If they had those two, even without KG, they would have won in five.

  • http://slamonline.com Holly MacKenzie

Hinrich’s been fantastic, minus that blown layup. I thought I was going to lose it if the game ended off of him missing a layup like that. And, Noah? Man, I did NOT expect the dunk after that steal!

  • BostonBaller

TADOne I believe that after the refs
actually stopped the game and reviewed the tape and only gave Rondo a flagrant it was b/c they watched everything that preceded it and the Henrich shove afterwards and decided to wash it out and let the guys go finish polishing an awesome series. I’m probably wrong. Allenp,
Paul Pierce got away with a lot of borderline fouls but so did Hinrich and what player doesn’t throw little elbow and ride players on a nightly basis? Darksaber, I take it that you close your eyes when the Bulls score since you only see the C’s mean muggin? You say hot potato and others say ball movement. lol. Anton I think DOC got in KG’s grill and told him to hold it down a bit on the sidelines or he got a call from the L.

  • http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RBQEmmgDl9I Boing Dynasty

Wow, so TAD is ‘Drama’ from now on?

  • http://mindyourbusiness@getalife.com Allenp

    Boston
Typically, the kind of riding Pierce was doing would have been a foul. The elbow chop to Hinrich was more borderline.
I’m just noticing that when and offensive player gets a step on the Celtics, they tend to flash that arm out. Now, typically, the refs will let you put the arm out to keep the guy off your body, but then you have to move it back and spread your arms. I’m seeing the Celtics get to keep that forearm on opposing players longer.
And just to be clear, I want the Celtics to beat the Bulls. I couldn’t believe Doc decided to put Tony Allen into the game when Big Baby was cooking on offense. I know the Bulls went small, but if you’re going to bring anybody in, I say bring in house because at least he can shoot. You can’t have Perkins, Tony Allen and Rondo on the floor for too long. It allows teams to double either Pierce or Ray Allen way to easily. That ws the biggest mistake of the game because the Celtics were up five, the Bulls seemed lost and then Tony Allen came in and took two really dumb shots, and the Brad Miller hit two clutch baskets.

  • BostonBaller

I agree w/ Allenp Posted: May.1 at 1:07 pm and Ray is old but not brittle. lol. I’m on the side of if you don’t like a player/team showing off then play better D and don’t let it happen but I don’t like when ppl complain about things like that when a player on a team they don’t like does it but it’s ok if it’s someone they like. Be real and just watch the grown men play a childs game and make millions doing so. That’s my stimulus

  • http://sfdjilf.com Jukai

I love ‘Boston’Baller’s totally unbiased analysis. Yep.

  • BostonBaller

Allenp you are right, I stand corrected..I had to flash back in my mind for a minute. I think teams w/ a defensive reputation get the breaks like that. (Not fair though) You are totally on point w/ the T allen for Baby move. Allen is still too unsure on offense and probably scared of his own knee OR the Chi-Town gang theatened him if he played well there (jk. No excuses) I laugh at all of this b/c most wrote the C’s off when KG wasn’t going to play and when Powe went down some started writing the eulogy. The Bulls were too young and athletic for the old injured paper champs is all I heard from my friends outside of Boston.

  • http://www.slamonline.com Ryan Jones

Hi everybody! I just got here, so sorry if I missed anything, but just so I know we’re all on the same page: Rajon Rondo’s kind of a dick, right? Cool. I thought so. Ok, take care!

  • http://www.slamonline.com Ryan Jones

Oh, and TAD’s right. Ray’s got ridiculously well-defined calves. Pretty sure dude’s body fat percentage is actually negative.

  • http://sfdjilf.com Jukai

Ryan, does K-Love know you look at other guys like that?

  • http://www.shawn-kemps-offspring.blogspot.com/ TADOne

I’m secure in my manhood, thanks. On a side note: i’m telling everyone to drop on over to the ESPN website today and read an amazing story on former Detroit Piston Dave Bing and his run for mayor of Detroit. It really is a great read.

  • BostonBaller

Jukai, have I not praised Miller, Rose, BG, etc etc on what they’ve done this series? Have I not dogged my team on things they have done wrong? I do however give my opinion or reasons why I THINK the refs make certain calls…Unlike some I don’t bash an opposing team just to bash them or make my point. I do acknowledge when I’m wrong or if someone has a legit point that is opposite of mine. I AM biased but I try to be fair. It’s still a game which means anything can happen.

  • http://www.shawn-kemps-offspring.blogspot.com/ TADOne

Hi Ryan! Just so everyone knows, Mr. Jones is a twitter nerd now. So sad.

  • http://www.slamonline.com Ryan Jones

    Prove it, Tad.

  • http://mindyourbusiness@getalife.com Allenp

    Boston
Don’t respond to Jukai’s sarcasm. He has never, ever been wrong. Ever.
Also, what the hell is wrong with Mikki Moore. Granted, he’s not a good player, but he should be able to do exactly what Noah does, easily. I couldn’t believe Doc had to play Carrot Top in big moments because Moore is that putrid. Carrot Top wasn’t even looking at the rim when he would catch the ball, which means he was completely useless out there. Eddie House needs more minutes, that’s the bottom line. House does stupid stuff, but the dude hits shots. The Celtics need shot makers.

  • http://www.realcavsfans.com Anton

    Ray Allen’s wife his hot.

  • http://www.shawn-kemps-offspring.blogspot.com/ TADOne

I wonder if I can copy and paste Facebook updates?

  • BostonBaller

So is mine and I don’t make millions. lol Gotta go

  • http://www.slamonline.com Ryan Jones

That would not be proof. Finding me on twitter would be proof.

  • Tavoris

Ray looks like he’s not athletic because he moves easily. Only a great athlete can get that much lift on his jumper time-after time-after time-for 13 years.

  • http://www.shawn-kemps-offspring.blogspot.com Eboy

I found you Jones…..but I haven’t had the heart to add you.

  • Tavoris

Hey Allenp, did u catch your homeboy scramblin for comebacks in the other thread? I had so much fun

  • http://mindyourbusiness@getalife.com Allenp

    Tavoris
You mean vonkers? Nah, that dude is sad.
    Izzo
He looks like a fat Carrot Top. With a bad headband. Facts are facts.

    LMAO @ Izzo.

  • http://lastknickstanding.blogspot.com Bryan

I missed too much to really join in. But there is no defending vinny. And jukai hates rondo cause the suns traded him.

  • http://www.manutd.com Z

The headband is a crime against humanity. There’s something about big man of (ahem…) lighter complexion with headbands… it’s just an awful look. Jake Voskhul is the worst.

  • http://www.manutd.com Z

Scratch that, head bands look goofy for all big men. I just thought of Erick Dampier.

  • Tavoris

yeah, allenp. u should check it out. He’s obviously a lot younger than he tries 2 portay, and was completely flabbergasted when I broke down the reasons for his AI penis-envy.

  • Tavoris

    lol@Z…u aint’ neva lied, playa

  • http://www.shawn-kemps-offspring.blogspot.com Izzo

Z:I agree.I would put forward that entire arms sleeves on anyone are worse though.

  • Tavoris

Allenp, Mikki Moore has NEVER been interested in anything other than shooting 12-foot jump shots. Rebounding, defense, and hustling are obviously beneath him. He should, however, be doing those things if he wants a ring. But then again, Kwame Brown has the physical tools to be a dominant player in the NBA. Goes to show you how far you can go without the proper mindset.

  • Tavoris

Izzo, I’m jus waiting for sumone to rock some cornrows with beads on the ends….

  • vonkers

Did you see the tread where I totally pwn’d Tavoris? I had him back peddling and trippin over his poor grasp of the english language that he learned in ebonics class….

  • http://www.shawn-kemps-offspring.blogspot.com Izzo

Tavoris:I’m waiting for that person to be Aaron Gray.

  • http://www.shawn-kemps-offspring.blogspot.com Eboy

    For a second, I thought I was on a 106 & Park message board.

  • Tavoris

Izzo…that would b a good look. vonkers, don’t you have homework to do? BTW, tell your mom I said hi.

  • Tavoris

lol @ Eboy…I can see why

  • vonkers

wow…good one…nobody has ever said that joke before…very original.

  • vonkers

wow…good one…nobody has ever said that joke before…very original.

  • Tavoris

@vonkers-who’s joking? @everyone else-have you seen “Malibu’s Most Wanted” yet?

  • Tavoris

    Eboy, I hate that Horford’s out too…

  • http://mindyourbusiness@getalife.com Allenp

    Ebonics?
I have never seen Tavoris write anything in ebonics?
Methinks someone’s hood is peeking out from beneath their New Era cap…
    Izzo
Seriously, I saw on tv that Carrot Top’s headband is supposed to help with his concussions. But, it’s still butt ugly. Plus, I don’t understand how a head band can protect you from getting smacked in the head.

  • http://www.shawn-kemps-offspring.blogspot.com Izzo

Allen:Unless the headband is some sort of Rajon Rondo repellent.

  • http://sfdjilf.com Jukai

Scal looks really misplaced on the Celtics team. I mean, who ever heard of a white dude on the Celts?

  • Tavoris

you all WILL NOT keep jonesin’ (there’s ebonics 4 ya, Allenp-lol) on my man Scal. Has there been ANY player ever to get away with doing NOTHING-while healthy-for so long?

  • Diesel

They were calling Scalabriniiiw..whatever – they were calling the red head Jackie Moon every time he touched the ball on the Comcast telecast. Hilarious.

  • http://www.lkz.ch Darksaber

Izzo: Rajon Rondo repellant. Fantastic line, man.

  • BostonBaller

Tavoris, I think Delonte West rocked the beaded braids last year. I’m probably wrong but he looks like he would. Did anyone catch Noah and his “pretty” long flowing locks during his post game interview? I had to take a double take and make sure it wasn’t a manly looking woman up there. hahaha Monster dunk, half hearted attempt at defense by Pierce. Dumb foul.

  • http://www.lkz.ch Darksaber

Is Dwyane Wade gonna have to choke a b*tch? Come on Flash, show us some of that post Allstar break invincibility. Twice.

  • Tavoris

When I see Noah’s hair, I think of White Goodman on “Dodgeball”

  • Tavoris

wayno, something tells me that Noah washes his hair all the time. Maybe his locks are perpetually wet, and the extra weight causes his hand-eye coordination to b wacky

  • Tavoris

@BostonBaller…that does seem familiar, altho it’d better fit a player named “Boobie”

  • BostonBaller

@Tavoris…now that’s funny. Then you have Pookie wade with the fade.

  • Tavoris

yeah…then go all out Kurt Rambis-style wit the old cast-iron knee braces, and some goggles. I’d like to see Rondo try to take all that machinery out.

  • BostonBaller

    hahaha
