The App-enning

The brilliantly named smartphone app that finds sneaker boutiques for you.

by Chris O’Leary/@olearychris

It’s the most commonly spoken phrase among sneakerheads. No matter where we’re all from and what kind of interests we have outside of the sneaker world, whenever a sneakerhead catches a glimpse of someone rocking heat, the same four words fall from our mouths like drool when dinner’s ready.

“Where’d you get those!?”

I’m not just spouting B.S., trying to find a moderately clever way to intro this post, either. Books have been written about this.

The root of the question, though, comes down to adding to your own collection. “Where’d you get those?” really translates into “Where can I get those?”

A new app for iPhone and Android users is helping the ‘heads get to the root of the issue.

SoleSearch (no relation to this fine blog) claims to be the world’s first mobile sneaker boutique app. Designed to help its users find a sneaker shop by location or store name, it will get you detailed results on a sneaker spot near you, including address, phone number, website info and directions.

Launched for the iPhone this past September, the app sells for $1.99. Some screen grabs on the app are below.
